DUBAI: Pakistan Professionals Wing (PPW), a part of Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), has vowed to continue its support to the community schools and students.

Currently around 260 Pakistani students have been awarded full scholarship to continue their education in the UAE. Munir Mahmood, chairman PPW, stated this during an event held last week to celebrate 25 years of the Pakistan Professionals Wing.

The first such event was organised two months ago in Dubai in which renowned Pakistani trainer Irfan Mustafa delivered a lecture under the banner of Mera Passion Pakistan, which was attended by a large number of community members, including the PPW members. The second event as part of the celebrations witnessed a huge turnout of people from the community who enjoyed the evening with famous ghazal singer Salman Alvi.

In his opening remarks, Mahmood said that during the last 25 years, community professionals from different fields served the community and tried their best to promote the soft image of the country.

“In recent years, the PPW has been focusing mainly on the education sector. In the last six months, the PPW has extended full financial support to 260 students belonging to different community schools in the UAE to continue their education as many had been facing financial problems,” he said.

He said that it is their moral and national duty to extend support towards the needy community members.

“We have been receiving applications from the deserving students from different community schools as the PPW had last year started to establish various facilities for students in different schools.

The latest example is Community Welfare School in Musafah, Abu Dhabi, where the PPW had assisted in providing a number of facilities for students to set up fully furnished classrooms and computer laboratories,” he added.

Mahmood also extended his felicitation on the election of the new president of the Pakistan Business Council and emphasised the joint efforts by the PPW, PBC and PAD to arrange a major event to bring the community on a joint platform.

However, the members gave a detailed presentation on the progress of Musafah School and other activities, such as participation in the different programmes and organising a cricket match by the PPW in the last six months.

He said that the next major event as part of the silver jubilee would be an Iftaar party in Ramadan for members, besides other activities.
